Mount Dora Winter MTB Time Trial Series

January 31 – February 28, 2026


The Mount Dora Winter MTB Time Trial Series is a five-week mountain bike event focused on friendly competition, rider progression, and supporting local trails. Open to riders of all ages and abilities, the series highlights rotating trail segments at the Mount Dora Trail and supports SORBA Orlando. This winter event is the start of an ongoing tradition for local riders to enjoy each year.


Event Overview

Each week features a single timed run on a designated trail segment. Riders compete individually against the clock, with only one rider on course at a time. Courses rotate weekly and are announced the day before each event.


Schedule

  • Location: Mount Dora Trail

  • Day: Saturdays

  • Dates: January 31 – February 28, 2026

  • Check-in: Begins at 11:30 AM

  • Riding starts: Around 12:00 PM

  • Finish: Around 1:00 PM (may vary based on turnout)


How to Participate

  • Sign in at the trailhead

  • Complete the required online waiver (QR code available onsite)

  • Wear an approved helmet

  • Riders must donate $5 to SORBA Orlando, which directly supports the Mount Dora Trail

Riders start in the order they sign up and complete one timed run each week.


Rider Categories

  • Youth Boys & Girls: Under 12

  • Youth Boys & Girls: 13–17

  • Men: 18–49

  • Men: 50+

  • Women: 18+

  • Open E-Bike Category

Categories may be adjusted slightly based on participation.


Trail Stewardship

This series supports SORBA Orlando, and riders are expected to respect the trails and help keep them clean.


Post-Ride Social

After each event, riders are invited back to the shop for a casual hangout. This is a chance to relax, talk bikes, and connect with the local MTB community. Food or beverage vendors may be present on select dates.


Prizes & Recognition

  • Weekly Winners: First, second, and third place finishers in each category receive recognition and a plaque.

  • Series Champions: Overall winners are determined by performance across the five-week season. Points will be acquired for placing first, second, or third in your weekly race.

    • Riders must participate in at least 4 of the 5 events, including the final race on February 28, 2026, to qualify.

Prizes are awarded in front of the group to celebrate achievement and community.
